STEP 1: CHOOSE YOUR artificial FLOWERS
TOP 5 TIPS WHEN CHOOSING YOUR artificial FLOWERS
Enjoy the experience of immersing yourself in the range of artificial flowers in our showroom , pick out your flowers and hold them together to get a visual idea of how these the group of elements will complement each other .
- Start with the artificial flowers that you love
- Select your colour scheme , decide if you’d like your artificial arrangement to be tonal or contrasting
- Don’t be tempted to use too many different types of flowers , the size of the flowers will give your arrangement a personality , all large flowers will look striking , whereas a mix of large , medium and small flowers will tell a different story
- Incorporate lots of artificial foliage, it makes it easier to achieve a better shape and it holds the artificial flower arrangement together,
- Consider using artificial grasses or berries to add another element to your design .
STEP 2: CHOOSE A VESSEL
There are so many to choose from , select from a variety of vases ,baskets , or pots to hold your artificial flower arrangement .
STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR VESSEL
Put some artificial florist foam inside below the rim of your pot , to assist in holding your artificial flowers in position( you can buy this from our store , and always wear gloves when handling)
STEP 4: START WITH FOLIAGE
Give yourself some bench or table space , and lay out your artificial flowers and foliage
Working with one stem of foliage at a time, place them at an angle in the vase , rotating the vase as you go, and create a framework for the artificial arrangement.
STEP 5: ADD SOME Texture
Position these through the foliage , again rotating the vase , be a little freer with their position , you don’t want the arrangement to look too “manufactured “ , step back and look at the arrangement and remove and relocate where you feel they need to shift .
STEP 5: ADD THE FULLEST FLOWERS
These are your focal flowers , thread the larger full flowers into the foliage arrangement one at a time , make sure the flowers aren’t bunched up too tightly, make some natural space within your artificial flower arrangement.
STEP 6: ADD SOME MEDIUM FLOWERS INTO THE ARRANGEMENT
Vary their height to create depth and a visual balance.
STEP 7: ADD SOME smaller flowers
A few of these delicate artificial flowers add a lovely contrast and create movement when scattered throughout the artificial arrangement
STEP 8: REFINE THE SHAPE
Take a few steps back so you can get an overall view. Visual rhythm is created by loose groupings and varied height and depth, so see if you need to make any final adjustments to the shape.
Try this for yourself and follow our clever florists guide , you’ll be able to impress friends and family when you tell them you made it yourself !!
